The 2019 Bible Challenge!

Are you ready to read through the whole Bible? Join us for the 2019 Bible Challenge!

We will read straight through, with weekly assignments. Each week, we will make a blog post introducing and briefly commenting on the passage.

Our goal is to live in the scriptures, so as to deepen our faith. We join Thomas Cranmer in his famous prayer:

Blessed Lord, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning; Grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace, and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

There are 66 books in the Bible, and 52 weeks in a year. So most weeks we read one book. Longer books will be spread out across 2-3 weeks, and shorter books will be combined into one week. In the first quarter of the year, we will read through Hebrew history. The second quarter will have some Hebrew history, but also much Wisdom literature. The third quarter of the year will be devoted to the Prophets. And then the last quarter will be the New Testament.
