Greetings, Trinitarians!
Tomorrow at 9AM we will gather outdoors for a commemoration of Saint Francis and a Blessing of the Animals (bring your pets, leashed). Especially in the midst of the busyness of life, remembering Saint Francis encourages us to simplicity and purity in devotion to God, following Christ's call to care for the poor, and of our kinship with the natural world as fellow creatures of God.
Here are two resources from Anglican Compass for the occasion: Jacob Davis wrote a Saint Francis Rookie Anglican Guide, and I wrote an article on Francis' hymn, All Creatures of Our God and King, which we will sing once more on Sunday. Sunday is also the last day for collecting items for Acadiana Animal Aid.
