John Jewel Lectures

Greetings, Trinitarians!

Today I'm excited to share with you a set of resources from our Trinity Scholars program.

Earlier this year, we welcomed Ven. Andrew Brashier to Trinity to deliver a series of four lectures to our scholars on Bishop John Jewel. Jewel was a 16th century Anglican reformer, who went into exile during the reign of "Bloody" Queen Mary, but returned under Elizabeth I and became one of the leading defenders of the Anglican Church.

Now we have all four lectures uploaded to Youtube. The four lectures, linked below, cover the following topics:
  1. A Biographical Overview of John Jewel
  2. Analysis of Jewel's "Apology for the Church of England"
  3. Analysis of Jewel's "Two Treatises on the Scriptures and the Sacrament"
  4. Application - What does John Jewel mean for us today?
For anyone who is interested to know more about Anglian history and theology, this set of lectures is a great resource for your studies.

Living Stones Update #5You are in for a surprise this Sunday! When you come into the sanctuary, you will see that our two oak tree stained glass windows have been removed, and replaced with plywood. However, despair not! We found a new home for these beloved windows, on the south wall of our renovated family center. In their new location, these windows will provide a splash of color, soft light for times of worship, and a sense of continuity when we move to the family center later this year.

In Christ -
Peter
